CarSharing.net is run as a non-profit educational and promotional site, supporting the Car Communities Sharing Industry in North America. The site does not own or operate car sharing services in any city. Customers interested in bringing car sharing into their cities, should start by contacting existing suppliers. Starting a car share is a big project, not likely a money-maker for many years if ever.

This cars index site is an absolute nightmare in terms of interactivity. We tried really hard to find elements of it that were conducive to interactivity, but we came up empty handed. It’s a non-profit venture and it’s poorly constructed in every way. It boasts a sizeable portion of text but it’s certainly not engaging in any meaningful way.

A problem we discovered – one of many – was the fact that navigation is an absolute blunder on this car clubs site. This car site is supposed to be accessible to anyone and everyone, but once you navigate to help pages, it’s not easy finding your way out of them.  There are scores of links and the text is unappealing. We would prefer a smoother, faster, and more aesthetically pleasing site.

This is arguably the saddest component of them all when it comes to evaluation Carsharing.net car clubs site– there is precious little to speak of in this department. Multimedia as we are used to seeing it, is largely absent. Unless of course you enjoy wads of text and hyperlinks. We don’t. As a result we rated them accordingly.

We hopped, skipped and jumped around this car communities site multiple times. To no avail. It’s shocking that no effort has been made to add any RSS feeds or Facebook, Twitter or Delicious networking options. It’s a non-starter. Sad but true.

How easy is it to navigate around the site? We tried and tested it out and graded..
Innovation is largely the domain of the bold and adventurous. Carsharing.net is neither. The fact that they are running the car network site as a non-profit venture has possibly deluded them into thinking that it should be sub-standard. We are impressed by sites that seek to go beyond the mundane.

What else can I do here? We gave extra points to sites with videos.
There is nothing in this realm. Perhaps they forgot to add a privacy policy? We don’t know and after spending an hour scouring this site, we are not surprised either.

These guys certainly have the environment and the community’s interests at heart. They are working hard at making people share vehicles so that costs – financial and otherwise – will be reduced. It’s a noble cause.

This car networks support structure is an absolute joke. We have never seen a company telling its customers to contact the owner during his day-job hours at another company.
