How easy is it to compare car prices on this site? Are the figures reliable and does it actually help you find a good deal? We did some price busting searches..

Comparing prices on this site is tough. That’s mainly due to the complexity of the browsing. We found an Audi A8 and there were no other cars to compare its price with. A rather sad state of affairs. We graded them accordingly.

How easy is it to find cars? Do you need an account to use this site or does it offer its services to everyone? Can I save my searched cars?.

For new and used car sales quotes with no obligation, customers can browse CarPrice.com hassle free. There is no need to register in order to check out the cars on site. However some of the car listings offer scant reviews with little or no information on the vehicles. We expected a whole lot more from CarPrice.com

Is this site safe? Does the site protect my personal information? Is the privacy policy easy to find? Will this site bombard me with emails or share my details with other sites? Is this site recommended or verified by a regulator?.

Unfortunately CarPrice.com sports a privacy policy that is seriously well-hidden. We scoured the site from top to bottom and eventually found it lurking in the ‘Contact’ section. They may collect information about a customer’s computer and visits to the website such as the IP address, geographical location, browser type, referral source, length of visit and number of page views. They also use the info for many purposes – including marketing. We don’t like this one bit.

How detailed are the car model specifications? Do you get a good feel of the vehicle.

When we posed the question: how detailed are the car for sale model specifications, we were a little on the disappointed side of things again. That’s because we could only see a picture, make, model, number of doors and style. What about engine capacity, torque, acceleration? These just fell by the wayside. This is not up to scratch because there’s no way to gauge what’s under the hood with no information provided.

In terms of social options, we came up empty-handed on this one too – if there are social options, they are hidden from view. The problem with CarPrice.com is that they appear to be more focused on pretty pictures than actually providing a service that can reach the mass market. We give them a big zero on this one too.

There is a rather sorry looking online contact form which is the basis of their support section. It’s ineffectual and certainly doesn’t inspire confidence in their customer support services.

CarPrice.com scores highly in this area because they have 46 makes of new cars listed on their site. This includes everything from Acura to Volvo. There is certainly real consumer choice here.

Can you contact the site with queries? This grades the email support and telephone contacts available to users..

We looked at top-end vehicles like the Maserati Gran Turismo for around $120 large – nothing special about that. On the low end, we found a Kia Forte car for $13 large – again standard pricing. Consumers can search high and low but there’s nothing special about these deals.
