How easy is it to compare car prices on this site? Are the figures reliable and does it actually help you find a good deal? We did some price busting searches..

We went hunting for a Dodge Durango Hybrid and instead of finding prices for car comparisons; we found alluring pictures with car sales pitches. DOZENcars does not appreciate being asked to navigate all over websites and then being asked to complete lengthy personal forms before being able to see car price charts.

How easy is it to find cars? Do you need an account to use this site or does it offer its services to everyone? Can I save my searched cars?.

There are loads of options to compare prices and save to buy used cars, and with dropdown menus for browsing lists of cars it’s a cinch. No account is needed and for the most part browsing cars is easy – except that Trim options are so laced with jargon that we found ourselves having to click on each one (of many) to get at the finalized ‘look’ we were after.

Is this site safe? Does the site protect my personal information? Is the privacy policy easy to find? Will this site bombard me with emails or share my details with other sites? Is this site recommended or verified by a regulator?.

Autobytel collects email addresses of consumers who communicate with them or through their authorized vendors via email. They also collect information about web pages visited and other information that is provided by consumers either on Car.com or in response to email communications from them. That seems an invasion of privacy as emails are between sender and receiver and not 3^rd parties. We are appalled by this.

How detailed are the car model specifications? Do you get a good feel of the vehicle.

We decided to check the detail on the car model specifications and were surprised to learn the following:

*New car specs are not available until we completed online forms with private information

*Used car specs are severely hamstrung by lack of detail

We only found 5 categories listed, including price, trim, mileage, color and distance.

We were unable to locate anything of any value in this realm. It’s shocking to say the least. We expect at least a visible presence of blogs, forums, Facebook or Twitter social options.

design and power?.

There is a help section, or rather an ‘About Us’ section containing information on corporate and contact information. These details are buried so deep elsewhere, that they are of little practical value to new/used car customers. We failed them in this category.

How interactive is this site? Is there a Facebook Group? Twitter? RSS feeds? Linked In? Forum? We found out. .

We are spoilt for choice when it comes to make, model and the like. Everything from Acura to Volvo is listed. With used cars, the playing fields open up further to many older makes too. Car.com scores pretty well here.

Can you contact the site with queries? This grades the email support and telephone contacts available to users..

We found credit and other financing options splashed about, but precious little in the form of super deals. Customers will have their work cut out for them here because price ranges fall into narrow bands and it’s not entirely interactive or user-friendly.
