Edmunds Inc. publishes four web sites that empower, engage and educate automotive consumers, enthusiasts and insiders. Their web sites consist of Edmunds.com, Inside Line, CarSpace and AutoObserver.com which provide insightful automotive industry cars index commentary and analysis.

How easy is it to compare car prices on this site? Are the figures reliable and does it actually help you find a good deal? We did some price busting searches..

Vehicle Showcase

From Acura to Volvo there are readily available prices and some good comparisons – price wise - listed on the Edmunds.com site. The only problem is that navigating to these sections is difficult. The car sales site is complex and finding specific information proves a tad messy.

How easy is it to find cars? Do you need an account to use this site or does it offer its services to everyone? Can I save my searched cars?.

Browsing the site in search of used cars is not an easy undertaking at all. One glimpse at the site drives home this point. While users needn’t be registered to Edmunds.com to compare new and used car prices, the site is not user-friendly in spite of the sheer volume of superb content in the archives. We feel that a more accessible databank should be created.

Is this site safe? Does the site protect my personal information? Is the privacy policy easy to find? Will this site bombard me with emails or share my details with other sites? Is this site recommended or verified by a regulator?.

Edmunds.com shares customers’ personal information between themselves and other 3^rd party companies. In addition, all personally identifiable information presented through the use of the Edmunds’ Dealer Locator service may be shared with the manufacturers of those vehicles. This just seems like a serious infringement of privacy and we’re not impressed by these measures.

How detailed are the car model specifications? Do you get a good feel of the vehicle.

We posed the question: how detailed are the car model specifications? The answer apparently is not cut and dried. Because we had to click through multiple pages – with slow upload times – just to get to the specific cars we wanted to price. The information is presented poorly, with links to alternative locations and difficult-to-read text. We graded them accordingly.

To their credit, Edmunds.com has multiple social options available for its customers. These include links to Facebook and Twitter. But these options are buried knee-deep in text. So while we’re impressed with these options, they are insufficient to warrant serious attention.

This is another nightmare undertaking. The ‘contact us’ page sports a PHP-style form request page with multiple inquiry types and categories of questions. It isn’t quick and easy and we wanted more contact details and more accessible information. Based on this poor support network, we graded them accordingly.

How interactive is this site? Is there a Facebook Group? Twitter? RSS feeds? Linked In? Forum? We found out. .

There is an extensive range of cars on site. These include a pretty impressive A-V listing of vehicles. Everything from Acura to Volvo is available. Customers can easily find these on dropdown menus for both new and used car sales.

Can you contact the site with queries? This grades the email support and telephone contacts available to users..

Customers get a chance to enjoy loads of incentives and rebates. Plus there are prices with options, getting free price quotes, estimated payments, dealer inventories, resale values, and useful date on true cost to own these new and used vehicles. We are impressed with their competitive offerings
